The Long Ball Issue Three – Live Now!

Hello once more!

It’s been about six months since Issue Two and frankly you can blame my old laptop’s implosion and my lack of disposable income for that. The original August release date got pushed back and with changes in my personal circumstances, I was able to gain a laptop but lose almost all of my free time. But that’s plenty from me, you’re here to see what’s in store from Issue Three.

Our cover star this time around is Antonio Cassano. Find a more colourful career than Cassano’s and it’s probably a film script. In the space of one career he’s been the world’s most expensive teenager, lost and rediscovered his form more times than anyone can care to mention, developed a sex addiction, gained and lost weight by season and frustrated as much as he has dazzled. You could almost call him Italy’s Jekyll and Hyde. In fact, we have…

Elsewhere, Jack Wills returns with two pieces this time around. Firstly, he takes a look at the brilliant European Championship runs of the Home Nations not beaten by Iceland – Northern Ireland and Wales. They thrilled and excited all the way into the knockout rounds and came home national heroes and you can relive that in Issue Three.

Secondly, he takes a look at the surprising departure of England’s number one Joe Hart to Serie A’s Torino. Where does Hart go from here? Is there a future for him? Find out Jack’s thoughts in Issue Three…

We also are delighted to welcome Matt Gunn to the magazine as well as he talks about the issues surrounding Wayne Rooney‘s England future. He may be the last link to the “Golden Generation” but he’s not exactly universally beloved for a nation’s top scorer ever and captain. Read Matt’s views inside…

But that’s not all! We have the customary Where Are They Now? featuring an Ajax side trying to make history and Cult Heroes which this month looks at a Georgian midfielder beloved on Tyneside and at Dens Park and there’s some Englishmen in Serie A too.

Want to read it now? Then click this link and it will take you through to the magazine which is completely free to read forever.  Let us know what you think over on Twitter – @LongBallFoot, @Jack_Wills_95 and @MattNnug. Also, if you loved the cover then let @LWIMTH know as well.

And, if you hate it and think you do better, then get in touch and write for Issue Four – tentatively scheduled for just before Christmas.
